WELivE (Women Empowerment through Livelihood and Entrepreneurship) is a joint venture of BREADS Bangalore and IDS Alappuzha aims for a holistic development of poor and underprivileged rural women by facilitating them attain a sustainable income through entrepreneurship development and social empowerment. Financially backward women having strong desire and interest to start Livelihood project for their economic development are the target groups of WELivE.
WELivE’s rationale lies in the context of rapidly growing pandemic, increasing poverty after COVID -19, multiple roles for women/increasing drudgery of women and diversified income sources and food security being an important aspect. Through WElivE we strive to enhance entrepreneurial and life skills of women which is an option for rural sustainable livelihood promotions. Through transforming women SHGs/women activity groups into livelihood projects/entrepreneurs in farm and non-farm sectors, we intend to lead towards the economic and social development of women as a whole.
The main support, rather facilitation services for women entrepreneurs rendered through WELivE is inclusive of conducting market studies, helping with strategies for advertisement or promotion activities, facilitating for credit linkage and finance access for further growth if demanded (Govt. loans with subsidies..), carrying out follow ups and constant motivation.
