Kismat

The Kerala Interstate Migrants Alliance for Transformation (Kismat), is an initiative by Salesians of Don Bosco of Kerala state to protect the rights of migrant workers and ensure their welfare

It reaches out to migrant workers who are not able to access fundamental rights like food, shelter, education, medical care and so on and face distancing from the local people. Kismat ensures their integration into society. Under Kismat, 12 migrant help desks are set up across 11 districts.

The help desks makes sure that the migrant workers are equipped with skills so that they are not exploited at their work sites. It ensures that the beneficiaries are empowered to overcome problems at the work place. Proper education, legal support and counselling are the other helps rendered for their benefit.
