Theoretical Training on Organic Farming

By Admin | Jun 21st, 2025

A training program was held on two separate occasions: 19th July 2023 and 12th June 2024. An organic kitchen garden is a sustainable and rewarding way to grow fresh, healthy produce at home. Ensure the garden is close to your kitchen for easy access. Consider factors like soil quality, drainage, and protection from strong winds. Healthy soil is the foundation of an organic garden. Avoid chemical fertilizers and synthetic soil additives. Choose plants that are well-suited to our climate and growing conditions. Utilize drip irrigation of a soaker hose system to minimize water wastage. Organic pest control implements preventive measures to minimize pest problems such as, rotating crops, keeping the garden tidy, and practicing companion planting. Homemade organic insecticidal soaps or neem oil sprays can be used sparingly if necessary. Compost kitchen scraps, yard waste, and garden debris to create nutrient -rich compost. Regularly inspect our plants for signs of pests, diseases, or nutrient deficiencies. Starting an organic kitchen garden requires patience, observation, and a commitment to sustainable practices. They might highlight the usefulness of practical tips and step-by-step guidance on setting up and maintaining an organic kitchen garden. Participants might enjoy the opportunity to share their own experiences and learn from others in the group. They might appreciate learning about the importance of soil health, composting and natural pest control methods.
