The Integrated Development society in collaboration with Alappuzha district police have launched free food distribution to the needy people with an aim to transform Govt. General Hospital Alappuzha into a Hunger free hospital. District Police Chief Mr. G Jaidev IPS inaugurated the Aththaazham project' and the distribution of the first food packet was carried out by Dr. K Venugopal, the Superintendent of Govt. Hospital Alappuzha. Dr. Shalima Kairali, RMO of General Hospital Alappuzha and Integrated Development Society Executive Director Thomas Joseph were also present at the occasion. Jenson, Director of Integrated Development Society said that the issue of hunger has been deep - rooted all over the world and the caregivers of underprivileged patients in government hospitals suffer even more as they decide to stay hungry to save money for their kin's treatment. Along with this initiative, IDSA is planning to take over similar projects for the wellbeing of needy and underprivileged people in the future.
